PERPETUAL PROFESSION # 2021
“Perpetual Profession actualizes the definitive consecration to God. Therefore, he who will make it must have reached that maturity which permits such a fundamental life-long choice” #R.L.103#.
On 06th January 2021, we the Indian District celebrated the Perpetual Profession at Sacred Heart Novitiate, Nambur. Indeed, it was a great Joy to all of us that, four of our confreres Br. Chitti Babu SCJ, Br. Moses SCJ, Br. Maria Pavan Kumar SCJ and Br. Thambi Behan Kumar SCJ, have made their Perpetual Commitment in our Indian District in the Congregation of Priests of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The Eucharistic celebration was solemnized by Rev. Fr. Rinu Jose SCJ and the Perpetual Profession was received by Fr. Rinu Jose SCJ, the Delegate Superior before two witnesses namely Fr. Mathew Lalan SCJ and Fr. Dr. Arogya Hruday Raju SCJ. Fr. Mc Queen had given a beautiful and challenging sermon on the theme of the Perpetual Profession “Abide in Me as I abide in you” (Jn 15:4). The celebration added beauty to our Indian District that as four more confreres have joined us together to be ‘prophets of love and servants of reconciliation. It is noticeable that, due to this Pandemic COVID-19, the celebration was very simple and Meaningful with the minimum number of participants. Thanks to all the Participants and Congratulations to Perpetually Professed members. Stay Blessed always in God’ Vineyard.
CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL

1.HISTORY OF THE CONGREGATION: (In Brief)
The Congregation of the Priests of the Sacred Heart was founded by the Venerable Fr. Leo John Dehon, SCJ, in France in 1878. His dream was to establish a religious community of men committed to continuing Christ's work of rebuilding our world into God's kingdom of justice and love. We are Identified as SCJ’. SCJ is derived from the Latin words for our Congregation’s official title: Sacerdotum Corde Jesu. This is translated as "Priests of the Sacred Heart." The three letters appear after the names of our community members, and we call ourselves SCJs. In some parts of the world, we are also known as Dehonians in reference to our founder, Fr. Leo John Dehon.
